The Old Powerhouse Singer/Songwriter Competition

Welcome to the 1st Annual Singer/Songwriter Competition at The Old Powerhouse!

DETAILS:
This competition starts on Wednesday June 17th, 2009 at 8pm and runs each wednesday following for a total of 13 weeks.

There will be 10 musical artists each night over a 10 week period. A panel of Industry judges will choose the top 2 artists from each night to move on to the semi-finals to be held weeks 11 & 12, for a total of 20 semi-finalists. Five artists will be chosen from both weeks 11 & 12 (Wed, Aug 26th; Wed, Sept 2nd) to move on to the finals on week 13 (Wed, Sept 9th) for a total of 10 finalists. The judges will then choose 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place grand prize!

RULES & REGULATIONS
- ALL participants must be 14 years of age or older
- This is open to solo or duo UNSIGNED acts only, NO BANDS
- all songs performed MUST be the artists' own original work (NO COVERS)
- each participant may enter a maximum of 3 songs, songs may be both instrumental & vocal, instrumental only or vocal only
- artists may use any number and/or type of instruments for their performance except for the following:
: drum kits are NOT permitted due to time constraints, but other forms of percussion are allowed, such as (but not limited to) bongos, djembe, cajone, shakers, etc.
: pre-programmed computer/drum loops are NOT permitted, although you may use a loop pedal if you would like to simulate different arrangements live on stage

Agreed where is the Old PowerHouse... need to know that first.

Malachi: I don't want to complain, but I had to actually go through the process of joining in order to find out what is the ADDRESS of the "Old Powerhouse". Not that I mind joining, it's been on my list for quite a while, the point is, the address for these events should be right out front - otherwise your attendance is much diminished.
