The wisdom of the Native American peoples who inhabited the Great Lakes region recognized each full moon with a feature of nature! The January full moon is identified as the Wolf Moon or Old Moon. Hungry wolves were often heard howling at the moon outside native villages in January, and these noble creatures were recognized for their strength, resourcefulness and social unity!

Wolves are capable of enduring the challenge and harshness of winter, when frigid weather forces much of life to a stand-still. Their keen adaptability to periods of scarcity stems from an ability to react to change with resilience and intelligence. Learn from the wolf to see opportunity in times of challenge and adversity.

The society of the wolf is identified with the pack, and is one strong on tradition, team work and protocol. This unity and support gives the wolf a competitive edge and an enhanced security! Learn from the wolf to seek creative solutions from within society and to honour our elders.
