Lights out in Hamilton for Earth Hour
The City of Hamilton is participating once again in Earth Hour, a global campaign that began in 2008 in Sydney, Australia to take action against climate change. The campaign promotes the simple action of turning off the lights for one hour beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31st to deliver a powerful message about the need for action on global warming.
The City will lead by example and will turn off all unnecessary lighting in corporate facilities, as well as the decorative downtown tree lighting. Street lighting will remain operational for safety reasons.
