International AIDS Candlelight Memorial

We are pleased to take this opportunity to announce this year's theme
for the 2010 Candlelight Memorial: "Many Lights for Human Rights", which
was voted on by our Board during our annual meeting in Accra. We feel
this theme captures the collective movement of the Candlelight to move
to action in the drive for access to treatment, care, and prevention, in
addition to the elimination of stigma and discrimination. It also aligns
with the UNAIDS 2009 World AIDS Day theme of "Universal Access & H… Continue

Message from Bob Geldof, ONE Campaigner

Dear ONEers,

The Copenhagen climate change summit is now underway. It is imperative that the necessary decisions and actions are taken. Key among these is to allocate adequate additional resources to enable the developing countries, which with inevitable unfairness are worst affected, to cope with the effects of climate change.

Please click here to sign ONE’s petition to the Danish Prime Minister to take the lead in doing so:… Continue

Fix Our World-Hamilton StandsUpAgainstPoverty 2009

Thank you to the Hamilton People who participated! Our slideshow posted above.
A Guinness World Record shattered this weekend when 173,045,325 citizens gathered at over 3,000 events in more than 120 countries, demanding that their governments eradicate extreme poverty and achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). "Stand Up, Take Action, End Poverty Now!", now in its fourth year, has been certified by Guinness World Records as the largest mobilization of human beings in recorded history, an increase of about 57 million people over last year.

THIS IS HOW IT ALL BEGAN...

Thank You Hamilton Farm Market for your generous ongoing weekly food donations.

In January I approached the owner Imran Mian of the Hamilton Farm Market 969 Upper Ottawa Hamilton and asked him if he could help with the Poverty issues in our City by donating food to the Cafe Adonai a local food bank who doesn't receive any funding. The Cafe feeds people supper every Wednesday evening and opens their food bank every Wednesday and Thursday at noon to anyone in need.

Imran Mian immediately said YES he would like to help in anyway he could.
I showed up the following Wednesday morning and he and his employees generously loaded up my car with Fresh Fruit and Vegetables.
I was overwhelmed by their willingness to help others, their kindness and generosity.

Every week since Hamilton Farm Market has stepped up to the plate with their big hearts and happy smiles providing fresh fruit and vegetables to help feed people in our community who are in the most need. Without this help these people would not be able to provide proper healthy food for themselves and their families.

We hope and pray that some day food banks will be a thing of the past, unfortunately in these times it is a growing need. Until the poverty issues are addressed and resolved your generous support will be a necessity.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for being selfless, loving and caring and giving to others in our community who need you the most.

When others turn a blind eye you are being the change!

Thank you Imran Mian of Hamilton Farm Market
